Question Number: 27585Law 8 - Start and Restart of Play 7/8/2013RE: Professional Asad Mehmood of Karachi, Sindh Pakistan asks...This question is a follow up to question 781 1). When the ball consider in play on drop ball?
2). In case of more than 4 players of a team send off by the referee, may play re-start with less than 7 players of a team.

The ball in in play when it touches the ground on a dropped ball by the referee. The ball is re-dropped if it touches a player before touching the ground or if the ball leaves the field of play after it makes contact with the ground, without a player touching it.
On your second question IFAB has advised that a match should not continue if there are fewer than seven players in either team. The decision rests with the member associations and I am not aware of any association who advises continuing with fewer than seven players.
