Question Number: 18068

Law 10 - Method of Scoring 12/5/2007

RE: adult co-rec Adult

Bob Roach of Charlottesville, VA USA asks...

This question is a follow up to question 18049

In a follow up to 18049 - I played in an adult co-rec game a few years ago where the opposing keeper NEVER punted the ball. He literally threw it, one time catching our keeper off guard where it bounced over his head and rolled into the goal (our keeper stumbled and fell or he would have been able to chase it down). He was about 6'5" with huge hands and threw the soccer ball like it was a baseball.

A truly amazing sight, let me tell you.

Answer provided by Referee Steve Montanino

Good goal - it's very hard to accomplish this feat. Though, I have seen a keeper throw the ball into his own goal by mistake (which also counts).
