Question Number: 15955Mechanics 7/6/2007RE: Competitive Under 15 Steve of Vero Beach, FL USA asks...This question is a follow up to question 15935 We rarely have issues with ARs not showing up, but it did happen to us this Spring. I was an AR and our Club Assignor was the CR. The second AR was a no show (we found out later it was a miscommunication). Instead of selecting a Club linesman, the CR chose to do a dual system. A 1st for me, but he has done many at the HS level.
Because both of us were very active during the match, it seemed to work well.
If you have 2 experienced Referees, is it better to do a dual or to still get the club linesman? Just curious on your preference.
Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Dual systems are very specifically NOT allowed by USSF. All games played under the auspicies of USSF/USYS/AYSO must be played according to the Laws of the Game as allowed to be modified for youth. Having 2 referees is not an allowable modification.
Your assignor doesn't know this? Does he hold USSF assignor certification?
