Question Number: 1040Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct RE: rec. Under 13 fred linke of auburn, wa us asks...Is there a limit to how many steps a goalie can take before the ball is thrown, or kicked into play once they have controlled it with their hands? I always thought it didn't matter as long as they do not cross the 18 yard line in putting the ball back into play. Answer provided by Referee Gary Sebalja No there is no limit to amount of steps a goalie can take so long as it is done within six seconds as per the rule change on 1 July 2000
