Question Number: 35377Law 15 - The Throw In 3/11/2024Petr of Prague, Czech Republic Czech Republic asks...This question is a follow up to question 35374 I understand Mr. McHugh. I'm more concerned with how to restart the game.
The ball was not in play because the throw-in was not done correctly. So personally I would rather repeat the throw-in than continue with IDFK. Am I doing it right?

An opponent who unfairly distracts or impedes the thrower (including moving closer than 2m to the place where the throw-in is to be taken) is cautioned for unsporting behaviour, and if the throw-in has been taken, an indirect free kick is awarded.
i would agree with your assessment in that as the throw in has not been taken correctly it can’t be in play so it is a retake of the throw in after the caution.
