Question Number: 31847Law 13 - Free Kicks 9/30/2017RE: Comp Adult William Ocampo of Missouri City, TX United States asks...If the referee does not raise his hand for an indirect free kick and the shot goes directly into the goal, what is the restart? My contention is a goal kick. Even though the referee did not raise his hand to indicate an IFK, it is in fact still a an IFK. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi William I am afraid you are incorrect. The fact that the referee has not signalled that it is an IDFK means that the kicker is not aware that it is not direct. The restart is a retake of the kick with the correct signal.
