In the link above referee change his decision from PK to a DFK against attacker. If the restart is a DFK againt attacker then on what basis. Why not a dropball? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Haji
I believe that the AR may have told the referee that Red #25 fouled White #18 after White won the ball. It looked like Red tripped White after White moved the ball away legally. So the correct decision was made. It could only be a dropped ball if there was no foul with the referee making an error.
What I did not like about this was the *mobbing* of the referee by White players. In the Champions League UEFA expect that at least one player is cautioned in such mobbing instances.
