Question Number: 30635League Specific 7/27/2016RE: 7 Adult Smiffy of Harwich , Essex UK asks...I am a bit confused as to who the new "not approaching" the referee applies to. Is it Premiership only or all levels as its going to be very difficult to explain something they have seen on tv is different on a Saturday afternoon amateur match Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Smiffy The advice is being given to Premier League referees and it is how PMGOL and the FA wants the Laws to be uniformly applied among the senior group of referees. That should not be confused with the new amendments to the Laws of the Game. There will be nothing done by SG referees that are not part of the Laws or that could not be done by any referee such as dismissing for OFFINABUS, cautioning for mass confrontation etc. If a players runs 30 yards to harangue a referee he should be cautioned. Watching Pros berate a referee on TV with no action taken is not good for the lower levels. So I believe most of the Senior Group advice will be around discipline which will be good for the lower levels.
