Question Number: 28969Mechanics 11/11/2014RE: Intermediate Under 13 Phil of Tarzana, CA United States asks...This question is a follow up to question 28959 I have a follow-up on Q# 28959 to something that referee Dawson said. He lists 'During the Match' items a) through f). I looked at both the LOTG & Advice to Referees on Law 5, & I could not find that list. I do know, from reading the Advice to Referees, that everything in that list is correct. They say: 'All powers and duties given to the referee under Law 5 can be exercised from when the referee enters the area of the field of play until the referee leaves the area of the field of play, including all temporary suspensions of play, tie-breaking procedures, and breaks between periods of play.' I'm just wondering where that list came from. Thanks again for a great site & all the hard work you volunteers do. You should double your pay.:-) Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Phil Very simply it comes from USSF Referees Department and finds it authority in the Laws of the Game *Each match is controlled by a referee who has full authority to enforce the Laws of the Game in connection with the match to which he has been appointed........ provides the appropriate authorities with a match report, which includes information on any disciplinary action taken against players and/or team officials and any other incidents that occurred before, during or after the match* * Unless otherwise stated, the relevant Laws of the Game and International F.A. Board Decisions apply when kicks from the penalty mark are being taken*
That covers suspension of play, KFTPM, Half-Time, etc.
