Question Number: 28197League Specific 2/21/2014RE: Varsity school High School Amy smith of Austin, Tx USA asks...What are the consequences of a coach attending a game when they were red carded at the previous game? Clearly they were not supposed to be there or coaching their players at half time. Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Amy It is a matter for the competition organisers to deal with (if it comes to their attention). Sanction can be a further suspension / fine or perhaps loss of points etc. Referees rarely concern themselves with these matters as 1. The referee may not be aware of any sanction imposed. 2. The referee may not know the individual coach. The referee simply ensures that the paperwork for the game including signatures, technical staff names are present on the roster sheets.

Some leagues leave it to the local school athletic director to punish the coach; some will add to the punishment to the coach; some will declare the game a forfeit.
