Question Number: 27818

Law 5 - The Referee 9/26/2013

RE: High School

Michael of Monroe, CT United States asks...

This question is a follow up to question 27789

A follow up to my previous question.#27789
First, thank you all for your time and great help.
Before I submitted my report, I was able to get the name of the offending player from the Athletic Director. I have apologized to the captain. All is well and I have learned new ways to deal with this situation should it ever arise again.
Cheers,
Michael

Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh

Hi Michael
It is through situations like this that learning takes place. Interesting quote taht I came across ''No one is exempt from the rule that learning occurs through recognition of mistakes'
I used to at times struggle with identification going back to a caution after playing advantage as I did not focus enough on the offender but rather on subsequent play. Making the mental note of number, features always helps.
Anyway well done for getting it sorted and I'm sure the expereience will serve you well in the games ahead.
