Question Number: 27613Law 8 - Start and Restart of Play 7/21/2013RE: competive Adult rey d ramirez of garden city , kansas us asks...after a goal players were celebrating on a clear way back. can the game be restarted before players make it back on their own side of field? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Rey At a kick off teams must be in their own half of the field before the kick can be taken. That however does not allow players to delay the restart by tactics that are intended solely for that purpose and the referee should deal with those situations proactvely. The referee can also determine that say the final movement of a player over the half way line can be viewed as trifling and get on with play.
