I have a question about Referee Contarino's answer. Doesn't the arm stay up until a second player touches the ball?

Hi Phil,

You're correct - at an IFK the referee must keep his arm raised until either a second player touches the ball or the ball goes out of play.

I once called an IFK foul, and watched in amazement as the free kick curved and sailed into the upper V of the goal. It was such an amazing shot , that I would have forgotten about the 'indirect' free kick - - except that my arm was still raised in the air.

Always keep the arm up until another player touches the ball or it goes out of play.
