Question Number: 27408Law 8 - Start and Restart of Play 5/7/2013RE: Select Under 12 Bill of Seattle, Washington America asks...On a drop ball how many people may participate from each team? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Bill The answer is none. The referee simply drops the ball and it is in play when the ball touches the ground. A team can decide to have none or as many players as it wishes.

In full sided soccer, as many as 11 would be allowed to participate but I have never seen more that 2-3 players from each team participate at a dropped ball.
