Question Number: 27101Law 11 - Offside 1/9/2013RE: competitive Adult Sean Williams of London, England UK asks...A striker takes a shot which balloons off a defender and out of play for a throw, right next to a fellow attacking player who is standing clearly offside. The standing attacked lets the ball go out, grabs it and takes a quick throw which results in a goal. Should the goal stand? Is the attacking player who threw the ball technically interfering with play by advantageously grabbing the ball when it's out of play? Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham No. Once the ball goes out of play, everyone is eligible to play the ball and participate in play. Offside position will be judged after the ball is in play when the the ball next touches a teammate.

The moment the ball goes out of play the throw in begins play again so the goal should be awarded.
