Yes. The kicking team may score a goal directly on a kickoff.

An own goal may not be scored directly on a kickoff. The ball must touch another player to be an own goal.

Hi Herman
Older referees will remember a time when this was not possible. However that all changed in the great rewrite of the Laws in 1997. A goal can now be scored directly from the kick off but only in the attacking goal as the ball must be kicked forward to be in play.
