Question Number: 25062Law 10 - Method of Scoring 6/5/2011RE: Competitive Under 13 Mike Winsor of St. Petersburg, FL USA asks...If a goal keeper punts the ball down the field. It lands and takes one huge bounce and goes over the opposing goal keepers head and into the net without tuching any other players. Is the goal allowed? Answer provided by Referee Dennis Wickham Sure. The keeper may score goals from punts. (Note: in u-little matches involving short fields, there may be local rules that limit this. But, these rules have no application to regular matches played under TLOG.)

Yes it is goal as there has been no infringement. Indeed a goal can be scored from a kick out. Also if the goalkeeper could throw the ball the distance of the field of play that would be a goal also.

View Referee Joe McHugh profileAnswer provided by Referee Keith Contarino Of course. The ball is in play so a goal may be scored. The same would be true of a goal kick. The only time a goal would be disallowed would be if an indirect free kick was kicked directly into the goal.
