at a corner does the ball have to be passed out of the arc to be deemed to have been taken?

No. Like any other kick (except those taken within one's own penalty area), the ball is in play when it is kicked and moves.

No. The arc simply indicates where the ball can be placed. It is play when it is kicked and moved.

The arc is only to indicate where the ball is to be placed for a corner kick. The ball is in play when it is kicked and moved.

At the taking of a corner kick, the ball is in play when it has been kicked and moved
