Question Number: 24209League Specific 10/21/2010RE: Recreational Adult Vaqas Ahmed of Nelson, Lancashire England asks...In 5-a-side football:
A player from Team A goes into his own area and kicks the ball out to a player on Team B.
This should be a penalty.
However, if the Team B player misses a chance to score, should a penalty be given since no advantage was obtained? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi Vaqas
In 5 a side soccer there are local rules to deal with the situation mentioned.
In general if advantage does not accrue immediately to a team that has been fouled against the referee brings play back and awards the original free kick or penalty.
