Question Number: 23647Law 10 - Method of Scoring 7/10/2010RE: Under 18 Anonymous of Anonymous, Anonymous Anonymous asks...This is a hypothetical question! Let's say, the goalkeeper is standing in front of the goal line, the ball is played, the goalie catches the ball with his hands, but the ball is struck with so much force, that the goalie is thrown back into the goal with the ball in his arms. Would this be considered a goal, yes or no? Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh Hi This would most definitely be a goal as the whole ball has passed over the goal line, between the goal posts and under the crossbar and no infringement has been committed by the team scoring the goal.

If the line the ball crossed is the portion of the goal line inside the goal, a valid goal has been scored.
