Is the restart on an offside where the ball was played from, or where the attacker received it?

Answer provided by Referee Michelle Maloney

Neither. The restart is supposed to take place from the spot (generally) where the attacker in an offside position was when his teammate played the ball.

Hi Referee Brennan
The referee awards an indirect free kick to the opposing team to be taken from the place where the infringement occurred - that is the position the offside player was in when the ball was played by his team mate.
