Question Number: 21228Other 4/29/2009RE: N/A Adult Malcolm Massie (BucK) of Pace, Florida USA asks...I knew Chuck from our service together as helicopter pilots in the United States Marine Corps, VietNam veterans both. During our times in the Corps we flew together on numerous occasions and we also commanded, me as CO and Chuck as XO, a Marine aviation squadron. He was a highly decorated hero of the VietNam war. I always was in awe of his technical knowledge and command of the English language. His dry sense of humor coupled with outstanding leadership abilities made him the epitome of an Officer of Marines. I know that he carried these same characteristics into his second career as a world-class official in the sport of futbol. He is missed by those of us who knew him as 'Chuckles' in the Corps, and equally by those who knew him as 'Mr. Ref'. I'm sure he is on the field right now, scoring the teams up there. As we in the Marines say to one another, Semper Fidelis. Buck Massie, Major, USMC (ret) - The distinguished panel of referees is still discussing this question. We will have an answer shortly. Thank you for your patience.
