Question Number: 19980Law 10 - Method of Scoring 9/18/2008RE: Adult Bill of Saint Louis, mo United States asks...Here's the senario. IFK awarded in the penalty area for obstruction. The kicker shoots on goal. The keeper reaches for the ball, it hits his fingers and goes in. What is the correct call? Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Hopefully the correct call was for impeding, not obstruction. That word was stricken from the Laws 11 years ago. :-)
So let's think about this. We have an indirect free kick that touches another player before it enters the goal. Absent any other considerations (offside, fouls, etc), this is a valid goal.
