Question Number: 17565Law 10 - Method of Scoring 10/28/2007RE: U9 Travel Team Under 9 Rich of Brookline, MA USA asks...Can a defensive player dribble the ball across midfield and pass the opponents defensive and score a goal? Answer provided by Referee Richard Dawson Rich, any of the 22 players on the field including the keepers can dribble the ball and score a goal. Being defensive minded and always staying back is a choice or a coaching decision! Cheers

View Referee Gary Voshol profileAnswer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer It all depends on his skill. Some players can and some can't accomplish this feat. The Laws do not prohibit it, however some coaches do. Even some leagues may prohibit this. Please check with your league.
