Question Number: 17011Law 10 - Method of Scoring 10/1/2007RE: Rec Under 11 Kelly of Portsmouth, VA United States asks...at the start of the game when the other team kicks off and it goes in the goal, does that count as a point, or does it have to hit another player before scoring. I was always told that it had to touch another player and that it doesn't count if the center kick it directly into the goal. Thanks so much for you help Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol Kickoffs were made direct a decade ago. In other words, for as long as your U11 players have been alive.
If you kick it directly into the goal, that's one for your side. Now your opponents get to have a go at the same thing.
