Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct 9/11/2007

RE: womens' senior Other

joe of hamilton, ontario canada asks...

This question is a follow up to question 16181

If a player is red carded at half time for verbal abuse at the referee, ( she played the entire first half, and no substitutions were indicated for the start of second half) would her team have to play the second half with only 10 player?

Answer provided by Referee Gary Voshol

Yes. A player at the end of the half remains the player of record until the proper substitution technique is completed just prior to the beginning of the 2nd half.

Hi Joe,
if a player is sent off at the halftime interval who was on the pitch at the end of the 1st half then the team is reduced to play with ten at the restart of the second half. Cheers
