Question Number: 15186Law 10 - Method of Scoring 4/15/2007RE: Adult Alex of Chicago, IL USA asks...If a goalie extends the ball over the goal line between goal posts as they are attempting to throw ball to teammate, should this be a goal for the other team? Answer provided by Referee Nathan Lacy Yup. Barring an infraction, if the whole ball crosses the goal line between the goal posts and under the crossbar it's a goal even if it was the keeper that put it there. All the best,

AND he must be on the goal line when it happens or his flag better not leave his side. Reason? He's the only person on the planet, who's opinion matters anyway, that can see if the whole of the ball is over the whole of the goal line under the cross bar and between the posts. If this happens a goal is scored. It sound so simple...
I have only seen this one time in my 50+ years with The Game. Where was I? On the goal line with a perfect view! The referee took seconds, what seemed an eternity at the time, to stop play.
