What is the referees action if any? Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino Dissent is a cautionable offense. If the referee decides the dissent requires action on his part, the player is cautioned and shown the yellow card. Thanks for the question.

View Referee Ben Mueller profileAnswer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer Usually the referee would just tell him to "Shut Up". This is fair warning and subsequent dissent should be dealt with as prescribed by Law. Note: if this dissent is in the first minute a caution, without warning, is most effective in stopping dissent throughout the match. The only problem is ALL dissent must be dealt with in the same fashion. Players silence is well worth the extra paperwork...
