Question Number: 14120Law 10 - Method of Scoring 10/14/2006RE: Rec Under 10 Bart Underhill of Llano, Texas USA asks...If the ball is kicked at the goal and the goalie catches the ball with his feet inside the goal but the ball stays out, is it a goal. The goalie was standing up. Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer A goal is scored when the whole of the ball crosses the whole of the goal line under the crossbar and between the posts, provided the team scoring the goal has not infringed the Laws of the Game. You said the ball stayed out of the goal.

Nothing else matters but the ball and its location

View Referee Keith Contarino profileAnswer provided by Referee Debbie Hoelscher The only thing that can score a goal is the ball. Not a body. It doesn't matter where the body is in relation to any of the markings on the field. Only the position of the ball matters.
