11G of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin USA asks...

This question is a follow up to question 12745

Regarding asking the coach to leave the game - if he is asked to do so 30 seconds before the end of the game and complies by walking as far as he get in 30 seconds, is he allowed to return to the bench to provide closure and an apology to his team after the game is over?

Answer provided by Referee Ben Mueller

Nope. He is not allowed to take further part in the match. Referee must report this if he does.

Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino

Not on the bench or other area adjacent to the filed of play. It would be a good idea to apologize to the team in the parking lot or some place else fairly close so he may do so quickly

Answer provided by Referee Nathan Lacy

The coach is to leave the field of play and is not to return even after the final whistle has blown. As stated, he takes no further part in the match of which the time immediately following the final whistle is a part. All the best,
