Question Number: 12585Law 9 - The Ball in and out of Play 4/18/2006RE: Rec Adult Ted of Cleveland, Ohio USA asks...Corner Kick question:
What happen if the corner kick is behind the upper goal post and then curve back into the field, is the ball still in play? Answer provided by Referee Chuck Fleischer When the ball crosses a field boundary, either in the air or on the ground, it is no longer in play from that moment until play is restarted in accordance with the Laws of the Game. If the ball crosses the longer boundary the restart of play is throw-in, the shorter -- goal kick, corner kick or kick off.
