Question Number: 12113Law 10 - Method of Scoring 1/29/2006RE: Under 19 Paul Holden of london, uk asks...Can a goalkeeper score direct from a drop kick or does it have to make contact with the oppositions keeper? Answer provided by Referee Keith Contarino Not sure what you mean by "drop kick". A keeper may score directly from a goal kick, a punt (whther or not it is dropped to the ground first is immaterial), and any free kick other than an indirect free kick, This includes kick offs, corner kicks, and any direct free kicks.

While it might take a wind assist or a powerful kick it is possible to boot the ball from one PA into the goal at the other end of the field. The only restrictions on a ball entering the goal directly are on a throw in or an INDFK. Both these restarts require an additional touch of the ball by any of the other 21 players. Cheers
