Question Number: 31633

Law 2 - The Ball 7/6/2017

RE: Under 6

David of Carrollton, Texas United States asks...

This question is a follow up to question 963

where i can get a high quality ball ?

Answer provided by Referee Joe McHugh

Hi David
FIFA sets the standards for match balls. Any ball that has the required FIFA logos which are FIFA Quality Pro, FIFA Quality and IMS all meet the set standard. Pro is the highest standard with IMS the lowest. Balls that do not meet those standards are not used for competitive matches. Many replica balls are not FIFA standard

With the advent of online retailing FIFA standards balls are readily available to everyone. Sports retailers carry both so just ask in your local sports store for the FIFA standard ball with the logo. Expect to pay more for those footballs.
